Frequently Asked Questions

We know that there's a lot of information out there about hemp, CBD, and THC. It can be difficult to make sense of it all, especially if you're just getting started. Here are some of the questions we get most from our customers with some answers from our knowledgable in-house crew.

How is THC legal in South Carolina and North Carolina?

THC products are legal in South Carolina and North Carolina when their active ingredients are derived from hemp and they contain less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight, as defined by the 2018 Federal Farm Bill. The products we sell use hemp-derived cannabinoids, including Delta-8 THC and hemp-derived Delta-9 THC among others, which are legal under both federal and state law. Marijuana-derived THC is still illegal in both states, but all of our products meet the legal hemp definition.

What is CBD and what does it do?

CBD is a natural molecule, or cannabinoid, naturally found in hemp or cannabis. It is non-psychoactive and doesn't produce any sort of high. It is typically used for anxiety, stress, and pain. It can be taken internally or applied topically and it comes in a variety of products like edibles, drinks, oils, and topicals.

What is Delta-9 THC?

Delta-9 THC is a natural molecule, or cannabinoidnaturally found in hemp or cannabis. Often when people generally think of THC, they're thinking of Delta-9 THC. It's the classic THC also found in marijuana, however all of our products derive their Delta-9 THC from hemp instead. It gives you a euphoric feeling that can be heady and intoxicating in large doses. While many products that contain Delta-9 THC are for recreational purposes, it can have some fantastic medicinal effects as well.

What is Delta-8 THC and how does it work?

Delta-8 THC is a natural molecule, or cannabinoid, naturally found in hemp or cannabis. Like Delta-9 THC, it has an intoxicating effect but it's typically considered to be less potent. While Delta-9 THC mainly affects the mind, Delta-8 THC has more of an effect on the body. It's often found in pain and sleep oriented products due to its sedative effect.

What’s the difference between sativa, indica, and hybrid?

· Sativa products are often described as more uplifting and energetic. They're great for getting your chores done or feeling a little outgoing at your next party.

· Indica products are more relaxing and sedating. They're perfect for a chill evening or sinking into bed. We always remember indica's effects with "in-da-couch."

· Hybrid products are somewhere inbetween sativa and indica in feeling. Most are very mellow and can be taken any time of day for a relaxing feeling.

How much should I take?

Each cannabinoid has a different effect and everyone's body chemisty is unique so there is no perfect answer here. That said, we recommend the first time you try a product to start with 5 to 10 milligrams. Wait at least 2 hours and see what your experience is. That can give you an idea of the product's effects and your own tolerance level. Then you can decide how much you should take next time with more confidence.

What is CBN and what does it do?

CBN, or cannabinol, is a cannabinoid that occurs naturally in hemp or cannabis, often as THC ages and breaks down. It’s non-intoxicating in small amounts but may have relaxing and sedative effects. Many people use CBN for sleep support, and it’s commonly found in nighttime gummies, tinctures, or capsules.

Do you have anything for sleep?

We do! You'll find many products both online and in-store that may be able to help you get a good night's rest. Most of these products feature the cannabinoid CBN which may help users fall asleep and stay asleep for 6 to 8 hours without waking up with a groggy feeling. Some people may even find that THC products help them sleep as well. There are even some products that have both CBN and THC that are especially strong.

Do you sell smokable products like flower and vapes?

While we are unable to sell smokable products on our online store, you can find them at both of our in-store locations. Both our Fort Mill, SC store and our Ballantyne, NC store sell smokable flower along with a variety of disposable vapes.

Will cannabis products make me fail a drug test?

Yes, products containing THC, including Delta-8 THC, Delta-9 THC, and even some full-spectrum CBD products, can cause you to fail a drug test. Most drug tests do not distinguish between different types of THC. If you are subject to testing, we recommend avoiding THC products entirely and sticking to THC-free (broad-spectrum or isolate) CBD products.

How long does it take for edibles to work?

Edibles can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to take effect, depending on your metabolism, whether you’ve eaten recently, and your body chemistry. Effects from edibles can also last much longer than smoking or vaping, sometimes up to 6–8 hours. That’s why we recommend starting low (around 5 to 10 milligrams) and waiting at least 2 hours before taking more.

What’s the difference between full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolate CBD?

· Full-spectrum products contain CBD plus other cannabinoids (including trace amounts of THC) and terpenes found naturally in the plant.

· Broad-spectrum products contain CBD and other cannabinoids, but the THC has been removed.
· Isolate products contain pure CBD with no other cannabinoids or plant compounds.

Many people prefer full-spectrum or broad-spectrum products for the “entourage effect,” where cannabinoids work together for enhanced benefits. However, CBD isolate products are often considered the best choice for those taking regular drug tests.

What are terpenes and why do they matter?

Terpenes are natural compounds found in cannabis (and all plants) that give them their unique aroma and flavor. For example, limonene smells citrusy, while myrcene smells earthy and herbal. Terpenes may also influence how a product makes you feel. Some are thought to promote relaxation, while others may be more uplifting.

Can I travel with cannabis products?

Laws vary depending on where you’re traveling. While hemp-derived products with less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC are federally legal in the U.S., some states have stricter rules, especially regarding Delta-8 THC. If you’re flying, TSA generally allows hemp-derived CBD products, but not marijuana-derived products. Always check local and state laws before traveling with any cannabis item.
